The Design Process
Target audience
To gain a deeper understanding of our target audience, we conducted user interviews with food enthusiasts of different backgrounds, ages, and skill . From these interviews, we created user personas that represented the needs and goals of our target audience. These personas allowed us to design a platform that would meet the needs of a diverse group of users.
User Research
I conducted a user survey and created a questionnaire on google forms.
60% of the respondents share recipes with friends or family at least once a week.People who are passionate about food and cooking
70% of the respondents have posted a recipe or food-related content on social media, with Instagram being the most popular platform (45%), followed by Facebook (35%) and Pinterest (20%).Those who want to connect with others who share their love for food
90% of the respondents consider it important or very important to be able to easily share recipes with others through an app.The target audience is likely to skew towards a younger demographic, with a focus on millennials and Gen Z
The most desired features in a recipe sharing app are: ability to save and organize favorite recipes (95%), ability to search for recipes based on ingredients (85%), and ability to rate and review recipes (70%)
Creating Personas
By understanding the needs and goals of the users, I decided to create realistic versions of potential users based on the target audience and the interviews conducted so that I can design a platform that caters to a diverse range of needs and offers a variety of features and tools to help users achieve their goals when it comes to food and cooking.

Takeaways
At the start of this project, my personal goal for this was to gain more familiarity with the design of mobile applications and ideally B2C products. I found out how creative I had to get with navigation throughout the product to ensure the user flow was smooth and seamless. I am currently doing more user testing for this product to see how I can improve it, but this was an enjoyable project for me.
